"As a qualified English Saddler I have been frustrated over the years by the use of tubular steel saddle stands and racks, which have become almost universal in the UK. Use of this type of stand can easily cause deformation of the panel of a saddle, especially when multiple saddles are stacked on top of each other, when extra weight is introduced. The marks caused on high quality saddles, which use soft panel hide with pure wool flocking, are difficult to remove without costly re-flocking. The panel deformation can also cause pressure points and 'rub marks' on the horse's back, causing saddle fitting problems, which are often not easily diagnosed. Careful storage of an expensive saddle is important!! So, I have designed a solid wood saddle stand which minimises damage to your valuable saddle, by allowing it to rest at the optimum position when not in use. The geometry of the stand is designed to suit saddles of all types, widths and sizes. It will also enhance any Tack Room or Shop / Exhibition Display! 'Western saddle' option also now available. We manufacture these stands in the UK using only premier quality woods and fittings. They can be shipped flat-packed for added versatility, and currently in production is our new wall-mounted saddle rack, again made in quality woods, and designed to be an asset to any serious tackroom.
